Rich Winer President and CEO
As president and CEO of Winer Wealth Management, Rich oversees the financial affairs of a select group of individuals and families in Los Angeles and throughout the United States. His clients include actors, composers, producers, directors, managers, agents and musicians, as well as successful professionals, retirees and business owners from outside the entertainment industry. As a former professional musician and owner of a music production company, Rich understands the special needs and requirements of people in the entertainment industry and is uniquely qualified to help them organize and manage their financial affairs. In 2010, he was interviewed by E! News Daily's Ken Baker about how celebrities can protect themselves from fraud and financial scams. More recently, he was featured in an article in Variety on how financial advisors helped their entertainment industry clients during the 2008 bear market.
In addition to helping clients build, protect and preserve wealth, Rich is nationally recognized for his success in identifying and correcting critical financial mistakes and oversights and often saving his clients a fortune in taxes. In 2005, he was mentioned in The Wall Street Journal for saving the beneficiaries of an inherited IRA more than $700,000 in taxes. He was also invited to become a charter member of Ed Slott's Elite IRA Advisor Group—an invitation-only group of IRA and retirement distribution specialists. In 2006, he was featured in Financial Planning Magazine's Career Advisor. He has been mentioned and quoted in various financial publications including the Wall Street Journal, Ticker, Financial Planning Magazine, Inside Information and the Los Angeles and San Fernando Valley Buisiness Journals.
A Boston native, graduate of the University of Miami and graduate of the College for Financial Planning's CFP Certification Professional Education Program, Rich is also a Chartered Mutual Fund Counselor and holds various securities and insurance licenses. From 1985 to 1998, Rich served as vice president and director of Andover Securities Corp., the largest specialist firm on the Chicago stock exchange. He was also an owner and director of Moses Financial and Redwood Trading Corp., market makers on the Chicago and Pacific stock exchanges.
Rich is an avid tennis player, accomplished musician and a dedicated philanthropist. As guitarist for Band From TV with actors Hugh Laurie, Greg Grunberg, James Denton, Bonnie Somerville and Bob Guiney, he helped raise millions of dollars for charities like Save the Children, Pediatric Epilepsy Foundation, The Fender Music Foundation and Cure Autism Now. He has served as the Chief Financial Officer and director for The Fender Music Foundation and is also actively involved with The International Myeloma Foundation.
Rich resides in Woodland Hills will this his wife, Diane, daughters Jenny and Abby, their dogs Mozart and Molly and guinea pig Charlotte.
